OVYN Meeting Minutes June 18, 2017
Welcome
Pastor Bobbyjon led Opening Prayer.
The Bay Six Project in Mingo Junction – Bobby Alan Westfall gave a gripping personal testimony of God’s love being revealed to him. God pursues us, saying “Your life is worth more than this.” Worked in music ministry for 12 years. Saw need for long term ministry to youth. Felt God call him to bring his family to minister in Mingo, where he grew up. Took over Mingo location which previously was used as a Strip Club. Totally gutted and beautifully redecorated it. Last month hosted Egypt Speaks. Had a painting class last week. Planning to clean the side lot for outdoor events, live music. Next week, three Christian (Silver Side, Chaotic Resemblance, Keodi) are coming through and willing to play here for donations. Working toward starting a Bay 6 building in Kenya, which would combine with a food pantry. Fundraising by selling collectibles, art and crafts through “Rustic Junction”.

FCA Updates…At Edison, Indian Creek, SHS, Harding, Toronto HS/MS, JVS, Alternative School, Hancock County (new Supt. June 30th) – Looking to bring in Pittsburgh Penguin Matt Cullen, who has been in FCA.
FCS Update at EGCC – Becca Rook – Trey Freeman. Meeting during the summer, every Tuesday 8pm.
Sonshine Bible Club – Is meeting during the summer on the north and south end of town on Tuesdays. May start one in Weirton. Schools help with bussing.
Mom’s in Prayer – Andrea Bolster and Denise Mellow (group praying regularly for Steubenville Catholic Schools) partnership with Cookie West and Pamela Shea (group praying for Steubenville City Schools). Back to School Prayer Service 7pm Sept 7 at Gracepoint. Speaker Ashley Steele. To cover every school in the valley with collective intercessory prayer meetings on a regular basis. The theme of this event is God of city and the virtue is Hope.
“Steubenville Revitalization” - Therese Nelson “Young preservationists” to bridge the gap between homeschooled youth and the general population. Hosted 5K Club, Street Dance, Dance Marathon, Dino Dash (500 participants). This summer hosting Swing dance lessons each Wednesday at Froelick’s. Working to host Weekly Jam sessions and a Young artists group.
Fisher’s Council- Quinton Littlejohn. Ministry works with ages 8 to 18.
LAWS Movement – Cookie West. July 15, 11am to 6pm in Belleview Park lower level. to celebrate Lee’s 21stbirthday. Free food, clowns, games. Luke 14:23 “That His house may be filled.”
Marland Heights Community Church. Nate & Trey Freeman doing prayer on the porch tonight in Steubenville with free food, singing tonight. Monthly prayer burn on last Friday.
Urban Mission – Ashley Steele – Back to School Bash Aug. 17th.. Free food, backpacks, outdoor concert 1pm. Food distribution with multiple sites.
“The Benedict Option” Summer Book Club – June 27th, July 31st Schiappa Library – Steubenville. How to reach out in a post Christian culture. 6:30pm.
“Victory in Da Ville” – Martariesa Fiala June 24th – Everything is free. Trey Freeman, CB 180, Allegheny Angels, Car Show, Face Painting, Slip and Slide. At Brentwood UMC Wintersville.
Jefferson County Youth Coalition - Student Drug Prevention Teen Group – Michelle Polowski. Annual Summer 5 day leadership camp for 9th to 12th grade students. Last March attended “We are the Majority” rally and march in Columbus.
Treasure Hunters Five Week Bible Camp – Tower of Power Church. Monday to Thursday 9am to 3pm. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Field trips going to Pittsburgh museums, Oglebay and other sites.
Rising Stars Night – July 8th 6:30pm at Berkman Ampitheater. AKC Dancers and many other artists. Free.
