Opening Prayer Nate Freeman
Kim Weaver –
· Weirton Christian Center 100 years old in 2017.
· Mill workers came to learn English. Milsop opened 1952.
· Kindergarten to 1979. Now preschool and afterschool Christian program K through High school.
· Prayer, Scripture, free tuition, meals and transportation home at 6pm.
· United Way and other donations make up the funding for the organization.
· Partners with God’s Helping Hand to assist with groceries, utility bills.
· Matt. 25 separates the sheep from the goats depending on how we meet the needs of others.
· On the board for 11 years before becoming director of the center.
· Currently they meet in an old Orthodox church.
· If we can give them Jesus, they have Him for the rest of their lives.
· 5 vans are used for camps and daily route. Drivers needed.
· Increased reading levels by 4 grade levels through their programs.
· They provide funding for 100 kids to go to camp.
· They have a Summer program for students also.
· Needing prayers for building campaign.
· They are in partnership with Memorial Baptist in Weirton.
· Volunteers wanted.
· Partners with a dance company providing a weekly lesson.
Ø All Valley Youth Rally –Big Red Auditorium May 7th 6:00 – Speaker Raul Diaz, Testimonies by Bryce McAfoose and Noah Wodnicki. Praise music by Frankie Russell. Dance teams: New Life (The Pulse), Greater Zion Youth, Tower of Power, Promise of Victory.
Ø Urban Frontier - Thom Way (absent) providing work opportunities and transportation for events.
Ø AIM Update – Terri Janosco (absent) 600 attendees. Crisis pregnancy help, free U/S, pro life.
Ø Brightway Update – Cathy Takach – Ladies and Girls Tea Event coming up
Ø FCA Updates…At Edison, Indian Creek, SHS, Harding, Toronto HS/MS sent care pkgs to Urban Mission, JVS, Alternative School meeting weekly. Two of the shooting victims attended this FCA (both survivors). Gang related retaliatory fighting. Please pray for all the kids in the city. Hancock County (new Supt. June 30th)
Ø FCS Update at EGCC Room 1500 – Becca Rook New Advisor – Trey Freeman. Ben Miller moving on to another opportunity. Brandon Roach will take Ben’s place as new leader.
Ø Sonshine Bible Club – Each Monday. Going much better. Volunteers needed. May start one in Weirton.
Ø Mom’s in Prayer – Pamela Shea. Are going to start new groups around the area.
Ø “What’s Up Downtown” @ The Fort Steuben Ballroom March 29th 6:00-8:00 with many musical guests performing – Recap - Therese Nelson (absent)
Ø The Bay Six Project in Mingo Junction – Bobby Alan Westfall (absent) Ministry. Rappers, games, snacks. People were encouraged to attend their May 27 event.
Ø Fisher’s Council – Selena Fletcher (absent)
Ø LAWS Movement – Cookie West (absent)
Ø Tower of Power 6 weeks summer camp 8 to 5pm. June 12 to July 13. Free. 3 meals. Field trips. Volunteers and donations needed.
Ø Marland Heights Community Church – Nate & Trey Freeman. Gave away a car, which was won by a family in recovery from addiction. Daily discipleship is badly needed to teach families how to live. When we work together for the kingdom, our efforts are multiplied, not added. We need to collaborate more before more kids die. Where are the hands and feet of Christ daily. The needy are not going to walk into our churches. We are in a war against principalities and powers. It’s not about denominational lines. Valley pastors network first Wednesday monthly may be a good forum to plan additional initiatives. Eg. Mini carnivals, neighborhood visitations, feed children, Take the church outside the walls to the street. Maybe host a valley pastor’s weekend retreat to discuss.
Ø Urban Mission – Ashley Steele – Minority Health Walk
Ø iServe day of Community Service - For youth and adults to build an ethic of service. Projects ready to go as soon as volunteers arrive. iServe will take place Saturday in May 6th from 9:00-3:00. Free pizza, T-shirt. Big Red and Harding are sending students
Ø Dirty Vagabonds Updates – Maddy Burns. Bible Study Tuesday evenings for over 60 kids.
Ø Gracepoint – Liam reported 150 attended their Easter dinner, many under 13 years old. Planning outdoor Bible club through the summer.
Ø “Victory in Da Ville” – Martariesa Fiala. At Brentwood UMC. Free food, Christian band concerts, all day. June 24. Celebrate Recovery each Monday 6pm.
Ø STRONG Student Drug Prevention Teen Group – Going to schools now – Kalahari Trip. Teens attending overnight rally in Columbus.
Ø New Ministry To Youth– Liam McAfoose.740-275-6526. Partnered with Cutting Edge to bring teens to share Jesus with the homeless in cities. Last week trip to Pittsburgh. For the kids going because so many teens are not on fire for the Lord. Teaching kids to help others focus on God. Needing to reach out to invite teens to go. $69 pp includes food, lodging and transportation for the weekend. Work based scholarship available. Called to help churched teens fall in love with Jesus. Team going to give talks about sexual immorality and dating. Needing invitations to come talk to youth groups and churches. Studying Boy Meets Girl by Louis Giglio.
Ø Baccalaureate Service May 22nd at Big Red HS Featuring Sean Patterson of 411 Ministry in Columbus. All are welcome to attend.
Ø FCA Banquet – Featuring Rich Donnelly (MLB Coach) May 8th @ 6:30 at Big Red. World Series winner.

Ø YWCA 11am Sunday church and meal on every 5th Sunday.
Ø April 29 Tracy Morelli event walk for Haiti mission.
Ø Gracepoint benefit for Laurie Wheeler April 29 at 1pm. Food, music.
